Suddenly it is December

In adding a new article to http://www.LooseEnds.net/Onmark.html (my columns area on the Loose Ends website) earlier today, I was reviewing the contributor’s website. Her company provides seminars and information on “Work Life Balance,” “Elder Issues,” and more. It made me reflect on that time when my children were first born during which options in the workplace were few. I worked for a time with a not-for-profit group whose mission was to educate employees and employers on how creating flexible options could make for happier and more loyal employees.

Now it’s all these years (like, 25?!) later and, through the experiences of some of my clients, I have developed a personal interest in services for elders and those who care for them. (found here: http://www.looseends.net/elder.html)

December where I live is cold and sometimes snowy. December in business is about reviewing the fiscal condition of things and considering what changes, if any, to make in the coming year. December in your own life is the recognition that you probably won’t do some of the things you expected to do in your earlier years, but it’s rich with opportunity. Maybe I’m not exactly in my own December years yet (maybe more like September?), but from where I sit, it’s time to mark the passage of another amazing year.
