On My Needles Today
February, March and April are prime knitting months here. When the pollen count is high, I stay inside and knit whenever I’m not working. Recently OFF the needles is this little baby sweater, made from Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Grande (color=1310), my favorite yarn of late. Thick, soft, cozy, perfect.
I started two bluesy pieces recently. Had to pop in a large image here as the small shot didn’t do these beautiful yarns justice.
At right is a tie-front long sleeve wrap, done in Tahki Jolie (70% angora, 30% merino wool color: 5024) and then left of that piece is the front of a sleeveless shell done in Lion & Lamb hand-dyed (50% silk, 50% wool color: Whitewater).
The shell interrupted progress on the wrap when I became momentarily distracted. It was intended to be a single-skein-purchase, for an as yet unidentified “one skein wonder” project. However, during swatching I fell in love and it is now a nearly finished “3.5 skein wonder.”
A rainy, windy weekend is foretold. Plans are to sew and knit if weather cancels baseball.
