BlogBackupOnline
Here’s a service I’ve been using during its beta phase: BlogBackupOnline.
The idea is that once you register your blog, you get automated daily backups. It’s so simple I completely forgot I even had it until I received a notice to day that they’re moving out of beta.
While in beta, I’ve had 50 MB of storage space available, but now that the product is ready for launch, that shrinks significantly to 5MB. (for the moment, they’re giving a bonus 5MB if you blog about the service, bringing you up to 10 MB for free). I’ve only used up 1.64MB of my allotment, so for a blog of my size, free backups will continue to suffice.
Supported blogging platforms include: Blogger, Live Journal, Word Press, or Windows Live Spaces. It looks like you can backup other platforms as well, but you can’t restore to platforms other than those listed above.
You can export your files, should you decide to change blogging platforms, and you can download a copy of all your files to store locally for added security.
While I haven’t needed to restore (which is good, since I completely forgot I had subscribed to this service), BlogBackupOnline seems like a great little support system for bloggers.

Take a look at Loosely Speaking’s Annual Convention Calendar and plan to attend one of the events in the months ahead. Tell me where you’re headed and maybe I will see you there!
