Pizza Perfection
Locally grown+homemade=Yummy Perfection.
This masterpiece started at Whipstone Farm in Paulden. Corey and Shanti Rade bring us our share of their fresh-picked produce every Tuesday. (More about their CSA can be found here.)
Shanti emails a list of what’s coming in each week’s delivery in advance. She also includes a few recipe hints, making meal planning easy. All we CSA members have to do is show up between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. with empty shopping bags.

This pie features:
onions, carmelized (from Whipstone)
eggplant, grilled (from Whipstone)
zucchini and crookneck squash, grilled (from Whipstone)
mozzarella cheese (homemade)
asiago cheese (from the grocery store)
grape tomatoes (from the grocery store)
fresh basil (from our backyard)
You can purchase from Whipstone Farm yourself if you attend the Prescott Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning. More on that here.

Hi Katie. I’ve known Corey and Shanti for years, and have played music at their farm for a couple of their get-togethers in times past. We’ve (my wife Zee and I) also purchased their farm products many times at the Prescott Farmers Market.. What a nice couple, and one has to admire them for what they’re doing on their farm in Chino. We had also planned to sign up for the pre-purchase farm produce plan, but somehow forgot to do so. That “pie” recipe looks interesting. I assume it must be an entree instead of dessert by looking at the ingredients. If you try it, would be interesting to read your comments on your blog…..Jim Hamm

Hi Jim,
I think I must have been fuzzy in my post, for this pizza is one I made at home, with fresh ingredients from Whipstone, my garden, and my own kitchen. I did try it, or, in fact, I did gobble it up with help from my spouse, Don.
Thanks for dropping in!
