A Roundup, Prescott Style
TV, radio, and blogs often feature weekly roundups. Loosely Speaking is trying it out today.
Logging a lot of hours on the road over the past few months, I’ve got a lot of new knitted projects to show off, but am woefully behind on reading my favorite blogs. So, today, I’m thinking about success and social networking, and I’m serving up some places to go and people to see.
Success thinking will get YOU where you want to go, whether you’re a writer, athlete, parent, artist, or prospective corporate giant.
Sparkplugging CEO’s Wendy Piersall (formerly Emoms at Home) examines successful thinking in “What do American Idol and the Butterfly Effect Have to do with Your Destiny?”
Scott Young at Pick the Brain discusses “How Failure Can Be Your Friend,” in essence another exploration of how to be successful through careful assessment of your failures.
In my recent travels I’ve sure met a lot of new people, NONE of whom grasp the way my work is interwoven with specific online activities. Social media and blogging are challenging to explain. Do you or your clients sometimes feel like you’re missing the boat in your own communications and marketing since you haven’t joined Twitter or Stumbleupon or started a blog?
“Does the cutting edge of social media really pay?” is the title of an article by Mark Silver, publisher of HeartofBusiness.com.
The Blog Squad, Patsi Krakoff and Denise Wakeman, take a second look at the social media phenomenon in “BusinessWeek Article Explains Social Networking Success.” The last time they discussed Social Networking, they disagreed, but today the Blog Squad is telling us that while still considered a “trend,” it’s one that serious business people should embrace.

Thanks, Katie, for the mention! And, I like your round-up. And Wendy is definitely one of my favorite people out on the web.
And I hope you don’t have to spend too much time on the road this summer!
