Loosen Up v.2: Teach Yourself Something New
You know that adage, “honey, you sound like you need a dose of your own medicine?” Well, that’s me right now, just kind of going in circles.
No need to elaborate, other than to say something created a sense of panic and was getting the better of me for a couple of days.
Moods, overreactions, bad news, personal issues, and simple happenstances can get inside your head, grab hold and not let go. Bad for you, bad for business, REALLY bad for your family.
As an entrepreneur, you need to find a way to manage during those bad times. Call it a part of your Risk Management Plan. You could just slap yourself in the face and yell out, “Snap out of it!” ala Cher in Moonstruck.
Or you could redirect your energy into learning something new.
Char at Essential Keystrokes shares her favorite resource for learning CSS in her post Found on My Desk.
Why not brush up on your Photoshop skills by taking a really quick tutorial? Here’s one I really enjoyed when I went through it last week: Digital Photography School’s “A Color Correcting and Sharpening Tutorial in Photoshop.”
If technology isn’t your thing or just isn’t right for breaking up the dark clouds, what about FOOD?! Not eating it, making it. Maybe just a little time cooking up some comfort food will alter your mental path. See some great recipes at Creampuffs in Venice.
Don’t forget about OFFline activities:
Learn a new skill from your dad or mom
Teach a new skill to your child or grandchild or dog
Try a new workout activity. What’s the worst that could happen? You will look funny and get some laughs.
Laughs are good.
