On My Needles Today

Friday, April 20th, 2007

February, March and April are prime knitting months here. When the pollen count is high, I stay inside and knit whenever I’m not working. Recently OFF the needles is this little baby sweater, made from Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Grande (color=1310), my favorite yarn of late. Thick, soft, cozy, perfect.

Aiden’s Sweater

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Last winter I made two of these little hats, for our granddaughter and our grandson-to-be. Here is Tessa wearing hers. These are quick to make from Farfalla and Chunky. I got the pattern from a yarn shop which is no longer in business and would be happy to share it. These little hats are very [...]

Entrelac Christmas Stocking

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

All finished with a stocking for grandson Aiden, except for to weave in all those blasted loose ends and then block it. If you’ve shied away from entrelac, the best advice I have is to dive right in and try it. The structure unfolds before your eyes, much like turning a heel on a sock. [...]
