Loved this article --- I learned to darn socks as a child --- and made my first dress when I was 8 years old. Over the years have most frequently had a garden and insisted my son work in the garden with me. I'm a firm believer in being able to care for ourselves. The pendulum is just correcting itself and we can gain a lot from examining our lives closely for areas where we can save. Transitioning into working and living full-time in an RV (with 2 Giant Schnauzers and 2 small parrots) has not been easy. But it HAS been very freeing and I love the strength it gives me in these difficult times!
