Doing Everything Twice
You know that expression “Measure TWICE, cut once?” That seemed to be me all last week - only I cut TWICE, too. Had to reach a number of clients, had to call TWICE to reach all of them. Ok, that’s normal. Got new glasses but had to go back TWICE in same day to try and get them adjusted so I could see out of them. Didn’t work, so ended up having to schedule a SECOND eye exam to try and figure out the prescription. Had to reach a contractor but had to call TWICE before reaching him and then had to talk to TWO different people to explain the problem. Had a yard sale - had to submit the ad TWICE online before realizing that it wasn’t going through so ended up calling the newspaper (TWICE!) before getting that squared away. Held the yard sale for TWO days, and well, yada, yada, yada…..
None of this is earth shattering alone, but an entire week of it made me get a little cranky. Ended up taking my husband’s massage appointment at the last minute when he couldn’t get away from the office. That first one didn’t make a dent in my physical and mental state, but the SECOND one that week (yes, I already had one on tha calendar for myself), just 5 days later did the trick. Ahhh, bliss! Never before have I experienced the luxury of a massage TWICE in one week. Sandi got me back on track. I resumed work the next day with the confidence that I can now get back to doing things right the FIRST time.
Got my new TREO 650 on Thursday and love it. This is my third handheld (#1 was a Handspring Deluxe and #2 was a Treo 90 - too bad someone swiped it from the yard sale last week!) Now I have only to enter my data once via the Palm software I prefer for addresses and dates, etc., and then sync with that awesome little PDA/phone. Even figured out the Bluetooth syncing so I can sync physically with the desktop and then do a SECOND Bluetooth sync with the laptop. That I don’t mind doing TWICE. Is it a work aide or a toy? Who can tell?! Now will have to load up with great software to find out the answer.
