Whose Prom is This, Anyway?
When I first put up this site back in 1997 or 1998 (I think and HOPE that version has completely disappeared from the Internet Archives site) I had a little place on the front page where I told people that this wasn’t the Bruce Springsteen Loose Ends site. In fact, I went around and found all the other Loose Ends sites out there - there were only three or four of us at the time - and wrote little descriptions of those with re-direct links so people could find what they were looking for. Of course I was hoping they would think I was courteous and interesting and that they would then want to poke around my site for awhile.
For the past couple of days, I have again been thinking a lot about Bruce Springsteen. I learned a few weeks ago that he would be stopping in Glendale, AZ, a couple hours from where I live for the Devils and Dust tour, so I excitedly went onto the TicketMaster site to get ready for the virtual doors to that ticket window to open. DH gently reminded me that April 30, the date of the concert, is also youngest child’s prom. How could I leave for Phoenix at 4:00 pm on the night of Dillon’s prom?
The answer, of course, is I couldn’t.
