Wordpress, hmmm
And the blogging (r)evolution continues, even here in my little workshop.
I’ve now done the html blog (since 2003), converted to Typepad less than a month ago and then, today, waded into Wordpress.
After all the reading over the past few days, I determined that Wordpress is the route for me.
As a VA (virtual assistant), it’s handy to have spent a lot of time in the past few weeks reading more on the options available, in case blogging assistance becomes a service I offer to existing clients. Well, there are a couple that are already asking me to manage their posts, but that’s a LOT different that really knowing what’s under the engine with the various options.
Using php isn’t daunting and, oh-mi-goodness, all those themes and plugins! It all fits right in with my Mac mentality. So editable as to become a full-time obsession! Next will be figuring out how to incorporate images and then, tah-dah, I think I will have found my blog home.
A detail-type aside: I am taking advantage of my business website’s ability to icorporate this within my own domain (or something like that), so that I am, in effect, hosting my own blog and benefitting from traffic, etc., just as on my site. My host is http://www.Alentus.com, and I’ve been with them for at least 7 years.
