lebackground-copy.gifAs a followup to the last post here (the group-generated blog tips meme), I just found a great list of sites offering lovely patterns and backgrounds, thanks to Char who compiled it at Essential Keystrokes.

It used to be that web designers created these from scratch for every new custom web project. Either that, or if you weren’t a skilled web developer who wanted to try the DIY route, you had to select from a limited number of templates for your site.

Naturally, not every entrepreneur knows how to design a site from scratch, and these days, using the multitude of Content Management Systems and solutions like WordPress, you don’t have to. You can go a long ways with just a little technical know-how and a lot of help from others pointing you in the right direction.

If you spiff up your blog or website with a nice find on her list, why not drop by Char’s blog to say thank you? Once again, you’ll find her here.

There are 2,000 faces in random order that compile what is known as the 2k Blogger project which brought 2,000 bloggers together in one spot.

  2. Thanks so much for extending the reach of this list. The quality of backgrounds that are available for free is just amazing.

  3. Char - I agree. A person can save a lot of time on just that single design element by selecting from your list of resources. Uh…. I wonder why I am still using a plain color for mine. And you are welcome.
